My dear friend Nicole had a birthday, and we celebrated in style. The night was beautiful, and full of good friends, delicious food and BEAUTIFUL atmosphere. There were so many special moments and personal touches. It was such a fun celebration of a beautiful person.

MS 150 :: Austin Event Photographer

I met 13,000 insane people a few weeks a go. People who rode from Houston to Austin on their bikes. That’s 150 miles. On. Their. Bikes.

Let me break this down for you.

These weren’t just people on bikes. There was a guy riding a unicycle. That’s right. 150 miles. On a unicycle.

There was a guy with no legs and a prosthetic arm who rode his hand bike to the capitol from Houston. He had ONE limb. And he used it to pedal 150 miles.

150 miles.

Crazy.

These people be crazy.

And my roommate is one of them.

She is one of these crazy, beautiful, strong, determined and persevering people who stop at nothing to accomplish their goal- no matter how crazy it might be.

On second thought, maybe not so much crazy as inspiring…. yeah, that makes more sense. Inspiring.

Scotland is magical. From the moors and lochs of the country to the dark and twisty closes of the city, it is full of beautiful mystery. At every turn it feels like something out of Harry Potter or Emily Bronte. I could not get enough. We spent time in Edinburgh, Inverness and with Nessie at her home in the Loch.

In May I went on a rockin’ trip with rockin’ friends to Britain. It was full of food, laughs, beautiful scenery and wonderful memories. I can’t even tell you how much I loved this trip. My travel companions were awesome. We relaxed, enjoyed and marvled our way through Ireland and Scotland (see the next post…). Seriously, so much goodness. Check it out!

Alyssa and Steve’s wedding was so beautiful! The friends and family that surrounded them and all the personal touches made their day so special. I am so glad I was able to be a part of it! The Mansion and Judges Hill was a beautiful backdrop for their wedding. And seeing friends come in town from literally all over the world, made the wedding even more delightful. Alyssa and I go way back. We were friends way back when, in High School Youth Group. So I was THRILLED when she contacted me about photographing her wedding. And what for even more fun, we got to invade The Mansion at Judges Hill for an entire afternoon, taking pretty pictures, in her pretty dress! I loved it! The mansion is full of great natural light and beautiful nooks and crannies that are just waiting to be captured. These are my favorites from the afternoon!

Last October I got to travel to Haiti for a week, and I fell in love. I spent the week meeting incredible people, held beautiful babies, stood under waterfalls, had my heart broken and then refilled in the same moment, made new friends and saw my life change.

My sweet friend and former roommate Emily finally got engaged to a swell guy, Joe over Christmas and I was so lucky to get to take their engagement pictures! They were so much fun and full of so many ideas! In case you can’t tell, they love coffee, soccer, cribbage and each other. Katastrophic Clothing :: Fashion in the Woods

I am so incredibly lucky to have such amazingly talented friends. Melissa is a fashion designer in town and creates beautiful, artistic apparel that shows a unique and poignant perspective on life and the world. She is capable of caputuring whimsey in a fresh and modern way that is hard to find. Her clothes are hand made, hand dyed, and GORGEOUS. Her pieces are available on here on etsy.

This shoot was so fun! It was styled my Melissa, with accessories by: sophie and the cat, and pretty good things, both on etsy. And props to our model- it was FREEZING, but you wouldn’t know it! Fierce!
